Lambda UC Dublin

Building the future of Serverless computing, in Dublin

AWS Lambda is a serverless compute service that runs your code in response to events and automatically manages the underlying compute resources for you.

The AWS Lambda team in Dublin owns, builds and operates the computing environments at the heart of every AWS Lambda customers function. From the runtimes which customers use to run their function, the sandboxes which provide the virtualised computing platform, telemetry and analytics systems making them observable, control plane making them configurable, to the EC2 worker infrastructure which scales to support this amazing service. The team are expanding through 2022 and this is a great place to build this future, while developing your own skills across the Lambda system.

Why Lambda?

As a member of the team, you will work with a group of talented, mission-focused colleagues to propose ideas and to design, build, and evolve production AWS systems. You will have the opportunity to talk with customers to understand their needs; you will see them adopt the technology you build; and you will use their feedback to inform future development.

If you are excited by the prospect of making it easy for developers to build and operate distributed systems, and are intrigued by any of the details above, please reach out – we would love to hear from you.

What skills does Lambda engineering require?

Firstly, you are a builder - you know that customer experience is key and is reflected by the systems that you operate.
Technical experience spans from deeper kernel and systems knowledge, as sought by the Lambda Worker Systems and Virtualization team, to having a mix of Java, Python, Node, Golang, Rust or C/C++ as offered by the Lambda Languages team.
