6 STARTUP STORIES Notes from Founders: Juniqe Revolutionizing the affordable art market Juniqe makes art affordable. The platform brings together carefully chosen works of art from 600 artists. Images are reproduced onto a range of products - from canvases, framed prints and posters, to cushions, shower curtains, bedding, towels, clothing and gifts. Profiles of the artists enable customers to discover the story behind each piece of art. While its headquarters are in Berlin, Juniqe has customers across Europe. Since launch, the team has secured more than €20 million ($24 million) of investment and now employs 100 members of staff. Frustrated by how difficult it was to buy affordable, unique art in Berlin, Lea Lange decided to set up an online art marketplace. Juniqe went live in 2014 with the support of co-founders Marc Pohl and Sebastian Hasebrink. Lea's background is in e-commerce, including executive roles at design flash-sale website Casacanda and US-owned design giant Fab.com. Lea lives in Berlin with her partner and is a judge on German TV show, 'Start Up!'. Lea Lange Co-founder of Juniqe
