Getting around Luxembourg
Public Transportation: From 1st March 2020 public transportation in Luxembourg is
completely free for both residents and tourists. Luxembourg is the first country in the world
to make such an announcement. There will be no need to buy a ticket for any national bus,
train or tram. Hurray!
Mobiliteit.lu: Mobiliteit.lu is an app which will help you move around the city and the
country. It shows you the best public transportation routes, including buses, trains and the
tram. It includes Vel'Oh bike options too. It tells you as well which travel option is the greener
one! You can check the journey planner or the timetable and lines on mobiliteit.lu/en
By Bike: Luxembourg has a well-developed bike system scheme called Vel'Oh. There are 100
stations in the capital. All the bikes are electric. The membership for 1 year costs 18 EUR. The
stations are connected to the app where you can view your account. The app enables you to
unlock the bike, check the nearby stations, and see the past trips. Once you unlock the bike
the first 30 min is for free. It's really convenient to use it and 30 minutes is enough to get
from one point to another in Luxembourg. For any additional hour you will be charged EUR
1, up to maximum of EUR 5 for 24h. Visit myveloh.lu home to learn more!
You can easily explore the whole country by bike as Luxembourg is covered by hundreds of
kilometres of well-maintained and marked bike paths. Pick a path here: visitluxembourg.
