Business & leisure Business Hours: At AWS, Gdansk we have a flexible working schedule, this means employees may decide to start their work between 6:00 am and 12:00 and end it between 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm, but generally working approx. 8 hours to suit their professional or personal commitments. Shopping: Gdansk and Tricity in general offer lots of shopping options. Try Galeria Forum, Galeria Baltycka or Centrum Gdynia Riviera. For supermarkets, try Tesco and Carrefour. For cheaper grocery shopping, try Biedronka, Netto and Lidl. You prefer something a little more gourmet? - For that, check out Alma or Piotr i Pawel. Supermarkets and shopping centres are closed on Sundays so keep that in mind when planning your weekly shopping! Public Holidays: Aside from New Year's Day, Christmas and Easter, Corpus Cristi (6 days) Poland has a variety of National Holidays (6 days), mostly based on our catholic culture: • 6 January (Epiphany) • 1 May (Labour Day) • 3 May (Constitution Day) • 15 August (Assumption of Mary) • 1 November (All Saint's Day) • 11 November (Independence Day) In addition, we have a couple of holidays such as Tlusty Czwartek when we eat all the doughnuts we can, or the night of Andrzejki when we play games that are supposed to tell your future! Another big one is the Saint John's day, which we celebrate around 20th June – it is the shortest night during the year and lots of parties and music festivals happen around that date.
