Getting around Zurich Public transport: In the city of Zurich, you can find a tram or bus stop approx. every 300 meters. You can purchase single tickets valid for 1 hour or day passes for 24 hours for various zones. For as long as the ticket is valid, it can be used to travel as often as you wish on all types of public transportation in the specified zones – whether bus, tram, S-Bahn train, boat, or cogwheel/funicular railway. The Zürich Card City Pass entitles the holder to free travel on all forms of public transportation on the entire city network (Zone 110 and surrounding zones). The pass can be purchased in the "Zürich City Guide" app on your smartphone, via our webshop, or physically at a ticket machine. The Zürich Card is valid for unlimited travel in Zones 110, 111, 112, 121, 140, 150, and 154 for a period of 24 or 72 hours, starting from the time specified when purchasing it in the app or from when it is validated by stamping it at a ticket machine. Night Owls: late-night buses and S-Bahn trains in nine regional nighttime networks operate on Friday and Saturday from 1am. Two tickets are required to use the ZVV Nighttime Network: a valid ZVV ticket and an additional night supplement costing CHF 5. The night supplement can be purchased at a touchscreen ticket machine under "Nachtzuschlag"/ "Night Supplement". By Bike: Zurich can be discovered from a completely different perspective on two wheels. Here are a few tips to help you pedal your way through the city in a quick, easy and fun way. In Zurich, there are various bike hire stations, as well as bike sharing systems that work without having a stationary infrastructure. As a result, visitors can get hold of a temporary bike in the city quickly and easily. By Foot: All major sights are within walking distance from Central Station and can be discovered in just a few hours on foot. Whether with a city map on a round tour recommended by Zurich Tourism or under your own steam, it's easy to get to know Zurich on foot. Most of the sights are all within a 1 or 2 kilometer radius and easy to reach on foot in just 20 to 30 minutes.
