Local entertainment The Augustins Museum: It's one of the oldest in France. It actually opened its doors shortly after the Louvre in 1795. The Halle de la Machine: closer to a street show than a permanent exhibition, the visit of the Halle de La Machine invites you to travel through the tales and legends of these extraordinary mechanics. A day amongst the vineyards: Toulouse boasts an extensive array of terroirs and is fiercely proud of its title as Capital of Wine of the South-West. Most notably, Fronton lies just thirty kilometres from the Ville Rose. Its AOP (protected appellation of origin) vineyards cultivate a grape variety that is unique in the world: the Négrette. Victor Hugo covered market: if there is one market not to be missed in Toulouse, it is this one! It is one of the most popular markets in the city. More than 80 stallholders offer an unlimited choice of fresh and regional products. Saint-Cyprien covered market: Located on the left bank of the city, it is the only covered hall in Toulouse to have kept its original state. This peculiarity offers to this place a popular and friendly atmosphere and gives a charm that reminds us the Spanish influence of the city. Les Carmes covered market: Les Carmes market sets the tempo in its neighbourhood. The « Halle des Carmes » houses bright lodges where exotic fruits and vegetables, meats, cheeses, breads and pastries abound.
