Sapir joined AWS in 2020 as a Technical Account Manager based in Tal-Aviv, Israel.
HereAtAWS: Tell us about your career journey. What brought you to your current role at AWS?
Sapir: My career started about 13 years ago when I used to be a full-stack web developer.
Over the years I was promoted and before joining AWS I used to manage Research & Development teams. During the last couple of years of leading development, I set myself a goal to use my management skills in a role that combines technology with customer-facing interactions, and I found that here at AWS.
HereAtAWS: Can you explain in simple terms: your role, who your customers are, and how you help them?
Sapir: As a Technical Account Manager, I’m working closely with my customers, as their technical point of contact and their advocate inside AWS, making sure they receive the best from AWS.
HereAtAWS: What technical and/or soft skills do you need to succeed in your role?
Sapir: Communication & management skills, and a good technical background.
HereAtAWS: What’s the most exciting part of your job?
Sapir: Taking part in the customer progress and achievements, along with endless learning and self-development across multiple fields.
HereAtAWS: What three words would you use to describe workdays at AWS?
Sapir: Exiting, challenging, satisfying.
HereAtAWS: What do you love to do outside work?
Sapir: I enjoy programming as a hobby, and I have a side volunteering project that includes application about dogs, that I also love!
